Very good except….

Please add Expiration date notifications, Im begging you; its all thats missing!

Best one Ive tried. With a few tweaks itd be 5 stars.

March 30/2013: After trying almost all the other shopping apps, this is my go-to shopping list. Its incredibly easy to use and remembers all the custom details of my regular purchases (dept headings, name qualifiers etc). Additionally, those items appear first when you type. I appreciate that when you add a new item you can effortlessly place it in a standard or custom dept (organics, dairy, bakery etc). The next time you list that item it still there while retaining the option of editing it. It also groups by those depts, so you never have to scroll in the store. If you want a certain quantity of something, you can select from a wide variety of measurement units (bunch(es) and can(s) being the exceptions). Another REALLY great feature is that t never requires you to sift through reams of common consumer products to find what you want. (If you dont dont eat packaged food, dont shop in the US and dont frequent mainstream mega-stores youll know what a deal breaker that is. The day I look for Captain Macs Restaurant Style Honey Melon Chicken Wing and Ice Cream Sauce please leave me outside the igloo for the night.) Seriously, Im seriously impressed with the simplicity of the food listings and how easy they are to modify. Now, about that elusive 5th star. To earn a full, raving endorsement from me, the Out of Milk developers need to address what must be a common situation: Some of us create menus for others to use. How many of us have uttered the phrase "… can you please pick up a few things while youre…?" Two features that would really help with this. They may already exist in the app, but as a busy (sometimes bone-idle) app user I dont want to invest shovel time digging around for them. Heres what would make the app perfect: 1) The ability to edit a received list. When I send my list via text (or, ugh, email) to another Out of Milk user (which I do at least 2x/week), they often want to add items. Even if they have the app, why bother opening something you can read in simple text? Im not asking for list syncing (and the layers of developer hell that would entail), but after a day of wrangling passwords, log-ins and multiple programs I dont want to do any more of it while picking produce. Cest possible sil vous plait? 2) Give us a list of faves. I cant recall ever sending a grocery list to an almost forgotten former colleague or my dentist. "Dear Doctor Paine, were out of toilet paper again." Were iPhone users: Were just want a list of favourites. In sum, despite my outrageous sense of entitlement and ungrateful whining, this app is awesome. I use it several times a week and appreciate it every single time. Thanks, Guys!

Awesome!

This app is great for people who love staying organized. The barcode reader is a really great addition and works really well, and the lists are easy to access and edit. You can even enter your own details about the cost of a product and the tax that will be added to a product.

Love this app!

This is a great app! I love that I dont have to do anything to have it update the grocery list on my husbands phone any time I add to it! Such a great app!

Out if milk is out of this world!

Love this app. Im the one that makes a grocery list and leaves it on my table. Since my phone is always with me, I always have my lists! Love it!

Good but has glitches

The app is great when its working properly. Ive encountered annoying glitches that will hopefully get fixed.

Great App

Its awesome!! I like how it syncs to all my devices and pc.

Not four Canadians

Doesnt recognize Canadian products.

Love it!

Awesome app, my favourite for keeping my grocery list handy.

Easy to use!

Love the multiple list function and catalog system for items. Great app!

Love it

Awesome app use it all the time. The scan part is not always accurate.

Dont know how I shopped without it!

This is a great app. Not only can you share the list with other people, but you can also make different lists for different stores. It also keeps your previous items so you do not have to add them each time, but instead click them.

Great app

My husband and I use it and love it.

Disappointed

I used to use this app a lot and couldnt live without it, however, now its become buggy and Ive been very disappointed. - when I add an item to my shopping list it quite often doesnt appear even after I refresh - saved items have lost price info and what category they were in -doesnt sync lists across devices anymore even when they are sharing the same account Overall this has made it very frustrating to use and Ive gone back to pen and paper lists. Please fix! It used to be fantastic.

Works well

Deals dont work in Canada, but this is a great shopping list/simple to do list creator with the ability to sync lists with others.

Great concept, not a great app

Freezes all the time and Ive been experiencing way too many glitches.

Awesome

Works well and you can sync your lists with everyone in the house.

So much potential but so much bugs!!!!

This app would be worthy of 6 stars out 5 but because of its bugs and constant crashes under iOS 5.1.1 at least (for instance when you try to move items from one list to another) even trying to unsuccessfully workaround those issues cant save this app from getting only a 1 star!!! And thats really a shame because the potential of this app is so obvious!

Was a great app... But...

Not sure what happened... Syncing doesnt seem to match up and then the list I shared disappeared and the other user couldnt share it back. Will need to test and try another smaller list to see otherwise will find another app. Was fantastic but something very buggy about the updated versions. Loved it though! Please look and fix!

Quantities missing.

I was excited to use this app but disappointed when I discovered I could not add quantities of items that I had in sock in my pantry. Some items I like to keep multiple stock of and I was hoping this app would be my "go to" list to help me with that. If that could be added and expiration dates added, as an option, it would be rated as a five star app.
